On November 10th, the China Kazakhstan Mutual Visa Exemption Agreement officially came into effect

On the morning of November 10, 2023, the Joint Inspection Hall of Khorgos Port in Xinjiang welcomed the first batch of inbound passengers after the Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Mutual Visa Exemption came into force.
On May 17, 2023, within the framework of Kazakhstan President Tokayev's state visit to China, China and Kazakhstan signed the "Visa Free Agreement between the Kazakh and Chinese Governments" in Xi'an, China, which is scheduled to take effect on November 10, 2023. According to the agreement, Chinese citizens holding official ordinary passports, ordinary passports, and travel permits, while Kazakh citizens holding ordinary passports and proof of return, shall enter, exit, or transit through the other party for personal affairs, business activities (including negotiations, signing contracts, providing consulting services, and other business activities), tourism, medical treatment, international transportation, and transit purposes. A single stay shall not exceed 30 days from the date of entry, A cumulative stay of no more than 90 days per 180 days is exempt from visa application.
It is reported that with the official implementation of the China Kazakhstan Mutual Visa Exemption Agreement, the flow of inbound and outbound people will significantly increase, and it is estimated that the daily average number of people entering Kazakhstan will increase from 300 to 1000 to 1500.
