How does the Ministry of Commerce evaluate the current level of cooperation in China Vietnam economic and trade relations and what are its prospects for the future?
Spokesperson Shu Jueting of the Ministry of Commerce stated that China and Vietnam are socialist friendly neighbors and a community with a shared future of strategic significance. China Vietnam economic and trade cooperation has achieved fruitful results.
Firstly, bilateral trade between China and Vietnam is developing rapidly. China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner for many consecutive years. Vietnam is China's largest trading partner in ASEAN and the fourth largest trading partner in the world, with bilateral trade volume exceeding 200 billion US dollars for two consecutive years. From January to October this year, the bilateral trade volume between China and Vietnam reached 185.1 billion US dollars, and small-scale border trade and border trade have become increasingly active. Vietnamese durian and other agricultural products have seen a significant increase in exports to China, with booming cross-border e-commerce and numerous highlights in the trade sector.
In addition, investment cooperation between China and Vietnam has achieved significant results. China's investment cooperation with Vietnam has a large stock, wide scope, and fast growth. Projects such as Hanoi Light Rail Line 2 and Shuoshan Garbage Power Plant have played a positive role in supporting Vietnam's economic and social development. Investment cooperation in areas such as green development and digital economy is steadily advancing, becoming a new growth point for investment cooperation between the two countries.
Shu Jueting stated that 2023 marks the 15th anniversary of the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Vietnam. China is willing to take this as an opportunity to jointly promote the high-quality development of bilateral economic and trade relations.
