Pakistani media: The construction of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor has entered a new stage

According to the website of Pakistan Today on May 26th, China and Pakistan confirmed five new corridors under the project at the 13th meeting of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor Joint Cooperation Committee.

The five new corridors in the second phase of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor include the Growth Corridor, the Livelihood Corridor, the Innovation Corridor, the Green Corridor, and the Open Corridor. The construction of these five new corridors is in line with Pakistan's economic development framework.

According to reports, Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of Planning, Development and Special Projects of Pakistan, praised the China Pakistan Economic Corridor as a benchmark of friendship between the two countries, laying a solid foundation for economic cooperation between the two countries.

After the 13th meeting of the Joint Cooperation Committee of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, Iqbal emphasized in a speech to the media the progress made by both sides under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, including the determination of five new corridors for the second phase of the corridor.

He said that the China Pakistan Economic Corridor provides a solid foundation for China Pakistan friendship and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The 13th meeting of the Joint Cooperation Committee of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor also reiterated that both sides will be committed to building some projects under the corridor, including two hydropower projects. In addition, according to the economic situation in Pakistan, the No.1 railway mainline project of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor has also been adjusted accordingly. The project will be constructed in stages to align with Pakistan's economic development.

Iqbal also stated that Chinese energy officials will visit Pakistan to make suggestions for reducing power losses during the project construction phase. They will also develop solutions to effectively convert conventional energy into green energy.

He also stated that Pakistan's economic development currently depends on the sustained growth of agricultural and industrial exports. Pakistan has started exporting wheat, beef, and fruits to China.

According to the report, the minister guarantees that the current government will not prevent any progress in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project. He also emphasized that strict security measures have been taken in cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior to protect all staff.

When summarizing the priority construction areas of the second phase of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, he said that this new stage will focus on promoting the development of agriculture, science and technology, and information technology.
