Xiamen University is one of the earliest universities in China to establish a Malaysian research institute. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China. Huang Zijian looks forward to further strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of humanities and education under the Global Civilization Initiative. He said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations 50 years ago, Malaysia and China have achieved great success in cooperation in economic and trade fields, and cultural exchanges and cooperation have also yielded fruitful results. In terms of higher education alone, currently there are over 10000 students studying in China in Malaysia, and over 40000 Chinese students studying in Malaysia. In addition, Huang Zijian was also impressed by the cooperation between Malaysia and China in Chinese education.
