Chinese and Kazakh entrepreneurs discuss opportunities for investment and business cooperation

Recently, the seventh meeting of the China Kazakhstan Entrepreneurship Committee was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. This meeting is hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, CITIC Group, and Kazakhstan's Samluk Kazena National Welfare Fund Co., Ltd. Representatives from government departments and the business community of China and Kazakhstan attended the meeting. The attending guests had in-depth discussions on topics such as transportation and logistics, energy transformation, food security, infrastructure construction, and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, and discussed opportunities for investment and business cooperation.

Kazakhstan's First Deputy Prime Minister Sklyar stated in his speech that China is an important trading and investment partner of Kazakhstan. The two countries have always maintained a high level of development in the field of economic and trade investment, and cooperation in cross-border transportation infrastructure construction between Kazakhstan and China has yielded fruitful results. Kazakhstan hopes to expand cooperation with China in fields such as agriculture, new energy, and automobile manufacturing, promote the landing of more major projects, and welcome more Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, China and Kazakhstan signed a total of 44 cooperation agreements, covering multiple fields such as agriculture, energy, transportation and logistics. Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stated that the council will build more high-quality trade promotion platforms, actively promote the export of high-quality products from Kazakhstan to China, and help expand the breadth and depth of bilateral trade.

"CITIC Group's investment in Kazakhstan has covered resources, energy, finance, infrastructure and other fields." Xi Guohua, Chinese chairman of the China Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs Committee and chairman of CITIC Group, said that he hoped that financial institutions of the two countries would focus on key areas such as major project construction, development of new forms of foreign trade, and facilitation of cross-border payments, strengthen communication and docking, deepen financial cooperation, and enable high-quality economic and trade development of the two countries with "financial water".

It is the consensus of Kazakhstan's participants to accelerate the in-depth connection between the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the "just Kazakhstan" economic policy, and further deepen practical cooperation with China. The Aratau Special Economic Zone located in Almaty Oblast, Kazakhstan is an important national strategic project. The Mayor of Aratau, Ujinov, hopes to learn from China's experience, build a good Aratau Special Economic Zone, and promote the rapid development of the city's economy.
