Wang Yi Talks about China US Relations and China's Policy towards the United States

  In the past year, guided by the diplomacy of the head of state and with the implementation of the "San Francisco Vision" as the main line, we have promoted the overall stability of China US relations. China and the United States held two rounds of strategic communication and five meetings of financial and economic working groups to promote pragmatic cooperation in areas such as drug control, law enforcement, and climate change. The two governments renewed their agreements on scientific and technological cooperation, and jointly signed resolutions on artificial intelligence at the United Nations General Assembly. Nearly 15000 American teenagers came to China through the "5-year 50000" project, planting the seeds of friendship between the two countries. These developments have been widely welcomed by various sectors of both countries and the international community, fully demonstrating that as long as China and the United States cooperate, many great things can be achieved. At the same time, China firmly upholds its sovereignty, security, and development interests, firmly opposes the illegal and unreasonable suppression of China by the United States, especially its gross interference in China's internal affairs on issues such as Taiwan. It must make a firm and powerful response, resolutely defend its legitimate rights and interests, and uphold the basic norms of international relations.

The principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation in handling China US relations have not changed. China's firm stance on safeguarding its sovereignty, security, and development interests has not changed, and its desire to continue the traditional friendship between the Chinese and American people has not changed. This is not only an authoritative interpretation of China's policy towards the United States, but also a solemn expectation for future Sino US relations. China's policy towards the United States maintains stability and continuity, reflecting the strategic determination and broad mindedness of a major power. We are willing to maintain dialogue, manage differences, enhance trust and dispel doubts, expand cooperation with the United States, and jointly explore the correct way for the two major powers to coexist on this planet, benefiting both countries and the world.
