Destiny and Shared Partners | Building a China Indonesia Community of Shared Future and Joining Hands to Create a Better Future

release time:2025/3/4

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1950, the relationship between Indonesia and China has continuously deepened, and close cooperation has been established in various fields such as politics, economy, and culture. In particular, under the promotion of the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, the potential of bilateral cooperation has been greatly released.   This concept has pointed out the direction for the development of bilateral relations.

The year 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which brings more opportunities for deepening cooperation. In the future, it is believed that by strengthening cooperation in various fields, the bilateral relations will become closer and bring more benefits to the two peoples.

The concept of a community with a shared future for mankind advocates breaking through traditional zero sum game thinking among countries and achieving common prosperity through global cooperation. For Indonesia and China, the core of this concept is to promote mutual benefit and win-win outcomes in areas such as economy, culture, and environment. In recent years, under the framework of the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", the two countries have implemented a number of landmark infrastructure projects. The construction of the Yawan High speed Railway and the Java 7 Coal fired Power Plant undertaken by Chinese enterprises has significantly improved the livelihood of Indonesia, while building a bridge for cultural mutual learning. Chinese companies are helping Indonesia's economic development in various aspects. At the same time, the Indonesian people's awareness of Chinese culture continues to increase, and more and more Indonesian students choose to study in China. There has also been a wave of learning Chinese in Indonesia, which further promotes friendly exchanges between the two countries.

Indonesia and China have achieved significant results in technology and environmental cooperation. The digital economy and innovative technology are becoming a new focus of global cooperation. Chinese technology companies are collaborating with Indonesia in areas such as 5G communication and digital technology to promote the development of Indonesia's digital economy. In addition, China has made significant technological progress in carbon reduction and green industries, and green low-carbon transformation is also an important direction for cooperation between the two sides. In the field of addressing climate change, China's experience and technology have provided crucial support to Indonesia. The Zhilata floating photovoltaic project undertaken by Chinese enterprises accounts for 25% of Indonesia's new energy generation. The project will save 117000 tons of standard coal and reduce 214000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions annually for Indonesia. Through a series of collaborations, the sustainable development of the Indonesian economy has been promoted, achieving the goal of balancing environmental protection and economic growth.

Cultural exchange and cultural cooperation have always been important components of the relationship between the two countries. Through scholarships, study abroad exchange programs, and other means, both parties encourage students and scholars to flow in both directions, enhancing mutual understanding. Every year, thousands of Chinese students go to Indonesia to study, and many Indonesian students also go to China for further studies. This profound cultural exchange has enhanced the friendship between the two peoples and laid the foundation for the long-term stability of bilateral relations. I have visited Xi'an University of Foreign Affairs and personally experienced the profound cultural heritage of traditional China. I sincerely hope that in the future, the two countries can open up a win-win educational cooperation mode and promote the development of educational and cultural exchanges.

Looking ahead to the future, there is vast room for development in the relationship between the two countries, and both sides should continue to deepen cooperation in various fields against the backdrop of accelerated globalization. Firstly, in terms of culture and education, the scale of exchanging international students, cultural ambassadors, and scholars can be expanded to cultivate professional talents for future common development. Secondly, in the face of the rapid development of the digital economy, both sides can deepen scientific research cooperation in cutting-edge technologies such as 5G and artificial intelligence, and help promote industrial upgrading. In addition, in terms of green development and low-carbon cooperation, the two countries should work together to promote the transformation of energy structure and jointly address the challenges of global climate change.

With the continuous deepening of bilateral relations, Indonesia and China have not only achieved significant achievements in bilateral cooperation, but also contributed positively to global governance. In the future, I believe that the two countries will continue to strive for deep integration in key areas, jointly contribute to building a community with a shared future for mankind, and work together to create a better future.
