Togolese officials: willing to continue the good momentum of pragmatic cooperation with China

Lome, March 19 (Xinhua) - Akosiva Zinsou Karlssou, Minister of Social Action, Solidarity and Women's Promotion of Togo, stated on March 19 in Lome, the capital of Togo, that China has made important contributions to improving the livelihoods of Togolese society for a long time, and multiple parties are willing to continue the good momentum of pragmatic cooperation with China.

On the day of the launch ceremony of the 2025 annual free clinic project of "China and Duo Joining Hands to Warm up Children's Hearts", it was held in Lom é. In a speech at the event, Zinsou Kalsu said that this free clinic project is a practical manifestation of solidarity and mutual assistance between the two peoples, and hopes that multi China practical cooperation will bring more benefits to the two peoples.

More than 200 people, including the Chinese Embassy in Togo, officials from the Togolese government, and heads of local child welfare agencies, participated in the event. At the launch ceremony, the Chinese Embassy in Togo donated food and school supplies to disadvantaged children from seven local child welfare institutions.

Chinese Ambassador to Togo, Chao Weidong, said at the event that since 2020, China has carried out nearly 20 "Warm Childhood" activities for disadvantaged children in Togo through free medical services, Chinese cultural experiences, sports competitions, and material donations. This year, China will continue to carry out relevant activities.

The captain of the 26th batch of medical teams in Lome, Togo, Bai Li, said that under the framework of the "China Togo Hand in Hand Warm Childhood" free clinic project, the Chinese medical team will visit local child welfare institutions every month this year to provide free clinics and other assistance services. The project will not only cover major cities in Togo, but also extend to remote areas, and is expected to benefit nearly 1000 disadvantaged children in the area.
