release time:2025/3/25

On March 24th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun presided over a regular press conference. A reporter asked, recently, Foreign Minister Wang Yi went to Japan to attend the China Japan South Korea Foreign Ministers' Meeting and held a high-level economic dialogue between China and Japan. May I ask if the spokesperson can provide more information?

Guo Jiakun stated that during his stay in Japan, Foreign Minister Wang Yi attended the 11th China Japan South Korea Foreign Ministers' Meeting, held the China Japan Economic High Level Dialogue after a six-year hiatus, and held meetings with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and others. During the meeting, he also met with South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae yeol. The visit was successful.

The foreign ministers of China, Japan and the ROK exchanged in-depth views on trilateral cooperation and regional and international issues, and agreed that they should jointly maintain the momentum of trilateral cooperation, comprehensively promote practical cooperation, expand cooperation areas, deepen people to people and cultural exchanges, and promote more new achievements benefiting the three peoples and regions.

Fifteen government departments from both sides attended the high-level economic dialogue, engaging in in-depth discussions on macroeconomic policies, economic and trade investment, digital economy, green development, ecological protection, cultural exchanges, regional cooperation, and more.

Close neighbors are better than distant relatives. In the face of an increasingly uncertain and unstable world, China is willing to continue to enhance mutual trust, deepen cooperation, eliminate interference, and jointly contribute to regional and world peace and prosperity with Japan and South Korea.
