Original title: Drawing a New Blueprint for the Development of China Central Asia Relations
The second China Central Asia Summit will undoubtedly help China and Central Asian countries further consolidate the foundation of mutual trust, consolidate consensus on cooperation, deepen strategic docking, and promote the construction of a closer China Central Asia community with a shared future
From June 16th to 18th, President Xi Jinping will attend the second China Central Asia Summit in Astana, Kazakhstan. This is a major diplomatic action taken by China towards neighboring countries, which is of great significance for drawing up a new blueprint for the development of China Central Asia relations.
The establishment of the China Central Asia mechanism is a unanimous decision between China and the five Central Asian countries, which is in line with the common expectations of all parties to maintain regional stability and achieve high-quality development. In May 2023, the first China Central Asia Summit was held in Xi'an, and the China Central Asia mechanism was officially upgraded and finalized, ushering in a new era of relations between China and Central Asian countries. In recent years, under the guidance of the head of state's diplomatic strategy, the China Central Asia mechanism has become increasingly perfect, and cooperation in various fields has flourished, injecting strong positive energy into the development and revitalization of the six countries and regional peace and stability. This summit is the first time that the China Central Asia Summit has been held in a Central Asian country.
Faced with the accelerated evolution of the century old changes and the intertwined international situation, China actively practices the concept of friendly, sincere, mutually beneficial, and inclusive diplomacy with neighboring countries, promotes good neighborly friendship, win-win cooperation, integration and coexistence with Central Asian countries, and has always been a trusted and reliable force for Central Asian countries to cope with challenges and promote development. China and Central Asian countries have achieved full coverage of the comprehensive strategic partnership, signed the "the Belt and Road" cooperation document, and implemented a community with a shared future for mankind at the bilateral level. The three 'full coverage' demonstrate the high level of political mutual trust, efficient practical cooperation, and in-depth international cooperation between China and Central Asian countries, demonstrating the firm determination of both sides to work together and create a better future.
China and Central Asian countries are fellow travellers on the road to modernization. Deepening cooperation is in the fundamental interests of the six countries and their people. In recent years, China has achieved fruitful cooperation with Central Asian countries in various fields, from smooth trade to industrial investment, from poverty alleviation to desertification control, from agricultural modernization to convenient personnel exchanges, from education cooperation to governance exchanges. Currently, the rising unilateralism and protectionism are common challenges facing the development of all countries. China and Central Asian countries will work together to promote high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", and adhere to mutual benefit and mutual assistance, which will effectively enhance their ability and confidence to promote development in headwinds and headwinds.
China and Central Asian countries are both countries in the global South, adhering to the practice of true multilateralism and upholding international fairness and justice. Faced with the rampant power politics and unilateral bullying, China and Central Asian countries firmly oppose hegemonic and bullying behavior, support each other on issues related to sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, etc., firmly support their respective development paths, oppose any form of "double standards" and interfere in the internal affairs of other countries under any pretext. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti Fascist War, as well as the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. China and Central Asian countries will firmly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, the international order based on international law, and the basic norms of international relations based on the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter. They will strengthen coordination and cooperation on multilateral platforms such as the United Nations, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia, promote global solidarity and cooperation in the South, and push the international order towards a more just and reasonable direction.
No matter how the international situation changes, China and Central Asian countries will always be good neighbors, partners, friends, and brothers. The second China Central Asia Summit will undoubtedly help China and Central Asian countries further strengthen the foundation of mutual trust, consolidate cooperation consensus, deepen strategic docking, and promote the construction of a closer China Central Asia community with a shared future.
