UN Food and Agriculture Organization official: China strongly supports developing countries in developing characteristic agricultural products

From the 8th to the 10th local time, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations held a global project launch seminar at its Rome headquarters to support the implementation of the "One Country, One Product" initiative through the FAO China South South Cooperation Program. Officials from the Food and Agriculture Organization and project demonstration countries stated that through the South South cooperation platform, China's advanced agricultural development concepts, technological models, and valuable experience will be utilized to provide strong support for the green development of characteristic agricultural products in developing countries.

The "One Country, One Product" initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was launched on September 7, 2021, aiming to promote the development of sustainable food value chains for specialty agricultural products, enable more people to access healthy diets, improve farmers' livelihoods, and promote economic growth. At present, 95 member countries of the Food and Agriculture Organization from five major regions around the world have participated in promoting the sustainable development of 56 specialty agricultural products under the "One Country, One Product" framework. Xia Jingyuan, Executive Secretary of the "One Country, One Product" Secretariat of the Food and Agriculture Organization of China, introduced that China can promote the green development concept, industrial poverty alleviation model, and technological achievements of Chinese agriculture to developing countries through the "One Country, One Product" global project supported by the FAO China South South Cooperation Program.

By using this platform, I believe it can effectively showcase China's advanced achievements and experience in agriculture, and make significant contributions to the development of world agriculture, food security, and nutrition.

The project launch seminar officially launched the implementation of the "One Country, One Product" initiative global project in 15 demonstration countries including Bangladesh, Egypt, and Uzbekistan. Lesotho's Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition official Lebata stated that agricultural funds and technology from China have significantly promoted the development of potato cultivation in the country.

China mainly provides us with financial and technological support to help our country better develop this characteristic industry.
