Peruvian President: Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Peru and China Continuously Consolidates

Xinhua News Agency, Mexico City, July 28 (Reporter Meng Yifei) Lima News: Peruvian President Borualte pointed out in his national speech on July 28 that in recent years, Peru has continuously consolidated its comprehensive strategic partnership with China and promoted deepening cooperation between the two countries in key areas.

July 28th is the 204th anniversary of Peru's independence. During his national speech in Congress, Borualte specifically mentioned the relationship between Peru and China, pointing out that Peru is actively implementing the goals set in the "Joint Action Plan between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Republic of Peru for 2024-2029". She stated that Qiankai Port has officially been put into operation and gradually developed into a new hub integrating logistics, industry, and technology along the Pacific coast of South America.

Borualte said that Peru's vision for port development goes far beyond infrastructure construction. Its core lies in achieving internal and external connectivity, stimulating regional economic vitality, and promoting balanced regional development.

Borualt also reviewed the achievements of the current government in his speech. She stated that it is expected that Peru's GDP growth rate will remain between 3.1% and 3.5% by the end of this year. With the government's continued increase in support for small and micro enterprises, employment opportunities in the country have steadily grown, average monthly salaries have continued to increase, infrastructure construction has continued to advance, and economic recovery has benefited millions of Peruvians.

Qiankai Port is located 80 kilometers north of Lima, the capital of Peru, and is a key project of the "the Belt and Road" jointly built by China and Peru. The port will officially open in November 2024.
