Bosnian economist Gavran Igor recently stated in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that Bosnia and Herzegovina and other Western Balkan countries have enormous potential for cooperation with China in the green field, which has practical urgency and strategic significance.

Igor pointed out that in recent years, China has developed rapidly in the field of green energy and has become the main driving force for the development of global green industries.

Bosnia and Herzegovina does not produce wind power equipment, nor does it manufacture photovoltaic modules, nor does it have the ability to produce new energy vehicles on its own. In this situation, cooperating with countries like China that are leading in the field of green technology is the most realistic and rational choice. Igor bluntly stated that Bosnia and Herzegovina's energy transformation started relatively late, facing technological shortcomings and a lack of sufficient funds to complete the green transformation.

He believes that Bosnia and Herzegovina can cooperate with China in various aspects in the green field, such as introducing Chinese enterprises to locally produce solar and wind power equipment, developing the new energy vehicle assembly industry, and promoting the landing of intelligent building material factories. This will not only help Bosnia and Herzegovina expand employment and improve technological capabilities, but also enhance its export capacity.

Igor stated that in recent years, green projects such as clean coal-fired power plants, wind power, and hydropower that Bosnia and Herzegovina has cooperated with Chinese companies have shown initial potential. Bosnia and Herzegovina needs to further simplify administrative procedures, streamline licensing processes, and accelerate the approval and implementation of green projects

Igor also mentioned cooperation with China in areas such as 5G networks and transportation infrastructure. Green energy management relies on remote control systems and data transmission capabilities. Without advanced 5G networks, it is impossible to achieve green goals. China's technological advantages can help Bosnia and Herzegovina achieve transformation. ”
