China India foreign ministers reach 10 outcomes in talks

On August 18, 2025 local time, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, held talks with Indian Foreign Minister Su Jiesheng in New Delhi. Both sides had active, constructive, and forward-looking discussions on bilateral, regional, and international issues of common concern, and reached the following consensus and achievements:

1、 Both sides emphasized that the strategic leadership of the leaders of the two countries plays an irreplaceable and important role in the development of China India relations. Both sides believe that a stable, cooperative, and forward-looking China India relationship can help fully unleash the development potential of both sides and is in line with their common interests. Both sides further believe that it is necessary to conscientiously implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and promote the sustained, healthy and stable development of China India relations.

2、 China welcomes Indian Prime Minister Modi to attend the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization Tianjin Summit. The Indian side reiterates its full support for China's work as the rotating chair of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and looks forward to the successful Tianjin Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which will achieve fruitful results.

3、 Both sides agree to support each other in organizing diplomatic activities at home. China supports India in hosting the 2026 BRICS Summit. India supports China's hosting of the 2027 BRICS Summit.

4、 Both sides agree to explore the resumption of various intergovernmental bilateral dialogue and exchange mechanisms, strengthen cooperation and accommodate each other's concerns, and properly manage differences. Both sides agree to hold the third meeting of the China India High Level People to People Exchange Mechanism in India in 2026.

5、 Both sides agree to continue supporting each other and organizing a series of commemorative activities for the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India in 2025.

6、 Both sides agree to resume direct flights between mainland China and India as soon as possible, and to revise the civil aviation transport agreement between the two countries. Both parties agree to provide visa convenience for personnel engaged in tourism, business, media and other activities between the two countries to travel in both directions.

 

8、 Both sides agree to take specific measures to facilitate the flow of economic, trade, and investment between the two countries.

9、 Both sides agree to maintain peace and tranquility in the border areas through friendly consultations.

10、 Both sides agree to promote multilateralism, strengthen communication on major international and regional issues, uphold the multilateral trading system centered on the World Trade Organization and based on rules, promote world multipolarity, and safeguard the interests of developing countries.
