The continuous growth in trade between China and Nordic countries indicates increasingly close economic and trade exchanges between the two regions, with China becoming an important market for an ever-growing number of Nordic enterprises.
The First China-Nordic Countries Customs Inspection and Quarantine Cooperation Dialogue was hosted by the General Administration of Customs, with the theme of "Smart Supervision, Green Trade, Shared Future." The event aimed to deepen cooperation and exchanges in customs inspection and quarantine between China and Nordic countries, strengthen alignment on sanitary and phytosanitary policy measures, and promote safe and convenient agricultural and food trade. Over 80 representatives from customs inspection and quarantine authorities of China and five Nordic countries—Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden—attended the dialogue.
The dialogue will delve into discussions on intelligent supervision and the application of new technologies, quarantine access for agricultural and food products, food safety, trade facilitation and sustainable development, as well as administrative assistance and cooperation. All parties acknowledged that customs inspection and quarantine authorities, in the face of new challenges posed by economic globalization, must enhance exchanges and dialogue while expanding mutually beneficial cooperation. They firmly support the multilateral trading system and are willing to deepen alignment on rules in areas such as sanitary and phytosanitary measures, actively promote trade liberalization and economic globalization, and jointly explore a "smart supervision" partnership. Through the dynamic balance of security and convenience, they aim to safeguard the stable and smooth operation of China-Europe industrial and supply chains, strengthen mutual learning and exchange, and jointly drive the transformation of inspection and quarantine services from "compliance supervision" to "value creation." By modernizing governance capabilities, they seek to enhance the quality and efficiency of global trade, fostering shared development.
