release time:2025/11/17

This is the first visit of a Thai head of state to China since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and also the first visit of His Majesty the King to a major country since his accession to the throne. It fully demonstrates the profound traditional friendship between the two countries and will surely write a new chapter for the 'Thai Chinese family ties'. On the occasion of King Vajiralongkorn's state visit to China, Thai Deputy Prime Minister Powensa stated in an interview with our reporter that the Thai royal family has long played a leading role in the friendship between Thailand and China and made important contributions to the mutual understanding and closeness between the two peoples.

The Thai royal family has long been concerned about and valued the development of Thailand China relations, playing an irreplaceable and important role in the friendly cause between the two countries. Princess Sirindhorn of Thailand has visited China more than 50 times and is able to communicate in Chinese, write Chinese calligraphy, and play Chinese musical instruments. Bo Wensa said, "The exchanges between Thailand and China have a long history, and the historical bond spanning thousands of years has laid a solid foundation for the friendship between the two countries. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations 50 years ago, the two countries have always respected and treated each other equally, becoming a model of win-win cooperation between countries with different social systems

This year marks the end of China's 14th Five Year Plan, and Powensa highly praises China's tremendous achievements in areas such as technological innovation, green development, and improvement of people's livelihoods. I have visited technology companies such as BGI Genomics in China and was deeply impressed by their innovative achievements in the field of life sciences. "Bo Wensa said that Chinese brands such as Huawei and BYD are highly popular among Thai people, and more and more Chinese innovative products are entering Thai households, fully demonstrating the global competitiveness of Chinese technology.

Recently, China released the "15th Five Year Plan" proposal, proposing to "lead the development of new quality productive forces", "deepen the construction of digital China", "accelerate the construction of a new energy system" and so on. Bo Wensa believes that this is highly compatible with Thailand's ongoing "Thailand 4.0" strategy. Thailand is accelerating its energy transformation and digital economy layout, and looks forward to deepening cooperation with China in emerging fields such as renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and artificial intelligence to promote high-quality economic development

In the opinion of Bowensa, the uniqueness of Chinese path to modernization lies in "common prosperity" and "not letting anyone fall behind". China has won the battle against poverty, achieved coordinated and balanced development in different regions, and shared the fruits of development with the people of the whole country. "Bo Wensa believes that" China's people-centered development philosophy has important reference significance for Asian countries.

Powensa strongly agrees with the global governance initiative. China has always advocated the construction of a more just and reasonable global governance system, which is also a concept that Thailand has long adhered to. "Bo Wensa expressed the hope that Thailand and China will continue to strengthen communication and cooperation in the multilateral field, and jointly promote the world's development towards a more balanced, inclusive, and sustainable direction.

During his tenure as the Chairman of the Youth Foundation of the Seventh King's College in Thailand, Bo Wensa led several delegations to visit China, actively promoting youth exchanges and cultural cooperation between Thailand and China. After visiting Chinese universities and research institutions, many Thai students have been deeply impressed by China's openness and innovation. They have gained a comprehensive understanding of a real, confident, and open China. Currently, there are over 20000 Thai students studying in China and about 30000 Chinese students studying in Thailand. The fruitful results of educational cooperation between the two sides have injected youthful energy into enhancing people to people exchanges between the two countries.

I have loved 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms' since I was young. This classic was ordered to be translated into Thai by King Rama I more than 200 years ago and is a source of enlightenment for many Thai children.' Powensa has a special fondness for Chinese culture and talks endlessly about Chinese classic works: 'I enjoy watching Chinese TV dramas, especially martial arts dramas adapted from novels by Jin Yong and Gu Long.' Powensa has also visited many cities such as Beijing, Xi'an, and Urumqi. 'Every time I go there, I can feel the enthusiasm and confidence of the Chinese people. In the future, I hope to go to Shangri La, Zhangjiajie, and Lhasa to experience more diverse natural and cultural landscapes.'

At the end of the interview, Bo Wensa warmly invited the Chinese people on the message board: "Welcome Chinese friends to visit Thailand. Thailand not only has exquisite architecture and beautiful scenery, but also the warmest and friendliest people
