Chinese Ambassador to the United States: China and the United States can transcend differences and write a new chapter of friendly exchanges and cooperation

New York, November 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to the United States, Xie Feng, delivered a keynote speech via video at the 2025 Guling Forum on the 25th, stating that although China and the United States have different histories, cultures, social systems, and development paths, their pursuit of friendship is the same. Both sides can overcome their differences and jointly write a new chapter of friendly exchanges and cooperation between the Chinese and American peoples.

Xie Feng stated that the Guling story is a beautiful tale of friendship between the Chinese and American people, and also a microcosm of the two peoples' mutual understanding and matchmaking. In recent years, the "Friends of Guling" have embarked on a journey to find their roots, and the "Guling Fate" China US Youth Choral Week, Guling Forum, and other events have been held successively, giving new vitality to the story of Guling.

He stated that China and the United States shoulder special and important responsibilities for world peace, stability, and prosperity. On the basis of upholding the bottom line of non conflict and non confrontation, the two countries should demonstrate their great power responsibility, abide by the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter, firmly maintain the post World War II international order, adhere to true multilateralism, and work together to solve international and regional hotspot issues, counter-terrorism, and other issues.

Xie Feng said that next year, China and the United States will host the APEC Economic Leaders' Informal Meeting and the G20 Leaders' Summit respectively.
