[Global Times Report by Journalist Jiang Ailing] According to reports from French media outlets such as Le Monde and AFP, the Elysée Palace, the official residence of the French President, announced on the 26th local time that President Emmanuel Macron will make an official state visit to China in early December.
The Elysée Palace stated in its announcement that during this visit, Macron will arrive in Beijing and Chengdu in sequence. The visit will explore major issues within the comprehensive strategic partnership between France and China, as well as consultations on several significant international topics and cooperation areas to address global challenges of our time.
The statement also noted that Macron will be committed to "advancing an agenda that seeks cooperation and balance in the economic and trade fields," which will become a central theme during France's 2026 G7 presidency.
The *Le Monde* reported that just as news of Macron's visit broke, two giant pandas in France—"Huanhuan" and "Yuanyuan"—were recently repatriated and have now been returned to Chengdu.
Previously, at 7:17 Beijing time on November 26, the giant pandas "Huanhuan" (female, born in August 2008) and "Yuanzi" (male, born in September 2008), who had been living at the Bois de Boulogne Zoo in France, safely arrived at Chengdu Shuangliu Airport on a chartered flight. They were then transported to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding for a mandatory quarantine period of at least one month.
