Peter Burnett, President of the UK China Business Council, recently stated in an interview with Xinhua News Agency that Chinese cities have their own development characteristics and resource advantages, providing broad cooperation space for international investors, including British companies.

On that day, the China Scotland Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum, jointly organized by the British Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the British China Business Council, was held in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland in the UK. During the event, Peter White said in an interview that he began visiting China for two and a half weeks in early November, with itineraries including Xi'an, Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and other places.

The key development areas in various regions of China are prominent, demonstrating rich levels of development, "said Peter White. Shenzhen focuses on innovation, information technology, and artificial intelligence, Hong Kong helps Chinese enterprises internationalize, Xi'an has a profound cultural heritage, Beijing showcases the style of the capital, and Shanghai is full of entrepreneurial vitality." Regarding the main feelings of this visit to China, Peter White said that China has always maintained a highly open attitude towards investment, welcoming foreign companies to develop in China and strongly supporting Chinese enterprises to "go global" and expand overseas markets. Peter White stated that in the past, investment cooperation between the UK and China was mainly concentrated in key cities such as London, Beijing, and Shanghai. British companies often set up their headquarters in Shanghai and expand their important businesses in Beijing and Hong Kong. However, this pattern is accelerating to change.

He said that currently, overseas investment cooperation is constantly extending to inland cities in China. In addition to Xi'an, which was inspected this time, cities such as Chengdu, Chongqing, and Wuhan are gradually becoming new investment hotspots. In the UK, Chinese companies are expanding their investment horizons beyond London and focusing on development opportunities in other regions of the UK.
