On March 27th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian presided over a regular press conference. A reporter asked, recently, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, and Ministry of Tourism jointly issued a joint announcement on the 2026 "China Pakistan Cultural Year". May I ask if the spokesperson has any comments on this and could you provide more information?

Lin Jian stated that China and Brazil are working together to build a community of shared future for a more just world and a more sustainable planet. Holding the 2026 "China Pakistan Cultural Year" is an important consensus reached by the two heads of state on strengthening the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Pakistan. It is also another key cultural exchange project after the series of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan in 2024. Both parties will carry out a series of cultural activities such as stage performances, visual arts, music, and intangible cultural heritage within the framework of the Cultural Year. Further information can be obtained from the cultural authorities of both countries.

China is willing to take the opportunity of hosting the Cultural Year to strengthen cultural exchanges with Pakistan, enhance mutual understanding and matchmaking, and stimulate greater vitality of the China Pakistan community with a shared future.
