China and the US agree to launch intergovernmental dialogue on artificial intelligence.

According to reports, the two heads of state of China and the United States exchanged views on issues related to artificial intelligence during their meeting. When answering questions at a regular press conference on May 19, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that as two major AI powers, China and the United States should work together to promote the development and governance of artificial intelligence and enable it to better serve the progress of human civilization and the common well-being of the international community. During President Trump’s visit to China, the two heads of state had constructive exchanges on artificial intelligence and agreed to launch an intergovernmental dialogue on AI.
