Finnish industry looks forward to new opportunities in circular economy cooperation with China

Dozens of government and enterprise representatives as well as scholars from research institutions of China and Finland discussed topics including resource recycling, industrial chain collaboration and standardization development at the recent China-Finland Circular Economy Enterprise Cooperation Exchange Meeting. Participants generally agreed that the two countries share highly consistent policy concepts and mutually complementary industrial strengths in the circular economy sector, making it an ideal time to deepen green cooperation. Tasa, Senior Advisor at the Finnish Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, stated that China boasts skilled professionals, advanced technologies and abundant natural resources. Finland regards the Chinese market as one of the most vital opportunities for cooperation and business growth for Finnish enterprises. Co-hosted by the China Association of Circular Economy and China National Resources Recycling Group, the event saw more than a dozen Finnish enterprises and institutions express strong willingness to cooperate with China. Korhonen, Chairman of the Board at Remeco Oy, noted that his company is eager to connect with Chinese enterprises engaged in waste cotton recycling and utilization. Luhtasela, Sustainability Director at Lindström Group, acknowledged China's leading position in green energy and resource utilization. The group has maintained sound cooperation with Chinese partners and plans to set up a local branch in China. Fiskars focuses on the recycling of plastics, steel, aluminum, textiles, batteries and other materials. Ihämäki, Vice President of Sustainability and Public Affairs of the company, said that Fiskars already has production bases in China. China is not only a huge market, but also an important production and supply chain partner, and the enterprise hopes to explore new research and development cooperation opportunities with Chinese counterparts. "China is endowed with rich resources and huge development potential. We believe China and Finland can learn from and share experiences with each other across various fields," said Sinkko, Senior Consultant at Inforg Oy.
