Wang Yi to Chair the UN Security Council High-Level Meeting and Visit Canada

As the rotating president of the UN Security Council for this month, China will host a high-level Security Council meeting on May 26 under the theme "Upholding the Purposes and Principles of the UN Charter and Strengthening the International System with the UN at its Core." Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs, will travel to New York to chair the meeting. During his stay in New York, Minister Wang Yi will also attend the meeting of the Group of Friends of Global Governance to be held on May 28, and meet with the UN Secretary-General and foreign ministers of relevant countries. At the invitation of Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly, Minister Wang Yi will visit Canada from May 28 to 30.
