According to the statement, the body of a Chinese citizen was found in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on May 30, and police autopsy confirmed the death was caused by homicide. The Chinese Embassy in Cambodia attaches high importance to the incident. It verified relevant facts with Cambodian police without delay, engaged with the Cambodian Government, the National Police and the Phnom Penh Municipal Police respectively, and urged the Cambodian side to ascertain the truth of the case as soon as possible, arrest the suspects with all efforts, severely punish the perpetrators in accordance with law, and earnestly safeguard the personal and property safety of Chinese citizens.
