The cross-border e-commerce TIR international highway export transportation was launched in Urumqi, Xinjiang on the 13th. This indicates that my country’s TIR international road transport has expanded the fourth flexible and fast transportation method in addition to air, sea and rail transportation for cross-border e-commerce.
Affected by the new Coronary Pneumonia epidemic, air and rail global supply chains have been severely hindered. In order to alleviate the pressure of cross-border e-commerce transportation and boost the growth of foreign trade, Xinjiang International Land & Port Group launched a new model of "cross-border e-commerce TIR international highway export transportation" on the same day.
Zhou Kai, deputy general manager of Xinjiang International Land and Port Group, said that through the TIR international highway export transportation mode, trucks will be transported from Urumqi by road, and will arrive in Amsterdam, the Netherlands through the Alashankou port on the Sino-Kazakh border. It will only take about 10 days.
The TIR system is the only global customs clearance system for cross-border freight transportation. It is built on the basis of the United Nations "TIR Convention", by simplifying customs clearance procedures, improving customs clearance efficiency, and promoting the convenience and safety of multilateral trade and international transportation. my country officially joined the TIR Convention in 2016. The United Nations authorizes the International Road Transport Union (IRU) to manage the TIR system globally and hold a TIR certificate. Approved vehicles can be conveniently cleared between TIR implementing countries.
