Entrepreneurs from China and Brazil held an online seminar to discuss economic and trade cooperation between the two countries

China News Service reported that nearly 100 entrepreneurs from China and Brazil held an online exchange meeting on Oct. 16, local time, discussing the current economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and expressing the intention to strengthen cooperation between the business communities of the two countries and push bilateral practical cooperation and cultural exchanges to a new level.

Mr. Yang Wanming, Chinese Ambassador to Brazil, attended and delivered a keynote speech at the meeting. He said that at present, the global epidemic has not been brought under full control, the world economy is in the doldrums and protectionism and unilateralism are on the rise. In the face of many complex external factors, China-Pakistan practical cooperation has shown sufficient resilience and great vitality. In recent years, bilateral trade has kept growing against the trend and investment cooperation has also made positive progress. This report is not only the result of the concerted efforts of businesses of the two countries, but also shows that the two countries have a solid foundation for practical cooperation, highly complementary, equal and mutually beneficial. We hope that businesses of both sides will continue to boost confidence, broaden their thinking and strengthen coordination so as to ensure the quantity, growth and quality of china-Brazil practical cooperation in the post-epidemic era.

Neves, chairman of the Brazil-China Business Council, said that China's outstanding achievements in coordinating epidemic prevention and control and economic and social development have attracted worldwide attention and become the main driving force for the post-coVID-19 recovery of the world economy. Seizing the "China opportunity" is crucial to post-EPIDEMIC recovery. The Pakistan-China Business Council is ready to play a more constructive role in promoting exchanges between businesses and guilds of the two countries, tapping into the potential of bilateral cooperation, and achieving greater results in practical cooperation in trade, finance, investment and other fields for the benefit of the two peoples.

Wang Yansong, President of The Association of Chinese-funded Enterprises in Brazil and chairman of XCMG Brazil Manufacturing, said that Since its establishment in 2014, Brazil-China Association for Enterprises and Enterprises has been growing steadily and now has 110 members covering major areas of cooperation such as energy, electricity, agriculture, finance, production and manufacturing, and trade. In the face of the challenge of the epidemic, Chinese companies in Pakistan have risen to the challenge, sought opportunities amid the crisis and achieved positive results. The Association will further support the investment and operation of Chinese companies in Pakistan and boost practical cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between China and Pakistan.

The Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association is optimistic about the prospects of the Chinese market

China has become a major export destination for Brazilian coffee, and it is expected that more and more Chinese consumers will fall in love with Brazilian coffee, Nelson Cavaraes, chairman of the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association, said Tuesday, Xinhua reported.

The emerging middle class, which has accompanied China's rapid economic growth, offers a huge potential market for Brazilian coffee, Mr. Cavaraes said. "We hope to offer Brazilian coffee to Chinese coffee shops and show the whole process of Brazilian coffee production through videos and magazines, so that Chinese consumers can know about Brazilian coffee."

Brazil's coffee exports to China have been on the rise in recent years, more than doubling in 2019 compared with 2017, according to the Brazilian Coffee Exporters' Association. The association believes China will import more coffee from Brazil in the future as the country's middle class grows and there are more coffee shops in large and medium-sized cities.

Brazil is the world's largest producer and exporter of coffee. China has been Brazil's largest trading partner since 2009, and agricultural products, including coffee, are Brazil's main exports to China.

Due to the growing importance of the Chinese market, a number of Brazilian coffee exporting companies have participated in the first two CIIE and will participate in the third CiIE in November.
