The Nihon Keizai Shimbun reported recently that The Nihon Keizai Shimbun's 2020 "Major Goods and services Share survey" showed that Chinese companies held the top global market share in 17 out of 70 categories surveyed, a significant increase from 2019.
According to the survey, Chinese companies in mobile communication base station, car batteries, personal computers, lithium-ion battery diaphragm, photovoltaic panels, large LCD panels, small and medium-sized LCD, camera, the international credit card brand, cigarettes, shipbuilding, large and medium-sized trucks, volume of crude oil, crude steel, washing machine, refrigerator, global market share in the home air conditioning first.
Of 74 categories surveyed by Nihon Keizai Shimbun in 2019, Chinese companies held the largest global market share in 12 categories.
The newly released survey also shows that US companies lead the global market share in 24 categories, including smartphone operating systems, smartwatches, tablets, cloud services and other areas. Japanese companies took the top spot in seven categories.
