release time:2022/6/7

In the face of the current severe domestic and international situation, how can small and medium-sized foreign trade enterprises, as the main body of stabilizing foreign trade, take the lead in the crisis and open up a new situation in the changing situation? Recently, the business intelligence center of Shanghai xtransfer Network Technology Co., Ltd. (xtransfer) and the business industry committee of the China Council for the promotion of international trade (CCPIT) conducted research on a number of small, medium-sized and micro foreign trade enterprises located in the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta to explore cases and experiences to meet difficulties in special times.
Impact on controllable turn around
An enterprise in Wuxi set foot in the export business of metal and stainless steel materials in 2015, with customers all over the world, especially in the Middle East. The relevant person in charge of the enterprise said that since March and April this year, the impact of the COVID-19 on the export of enterprises is mainly reflected in the freight transport. For this reason, even if the export of goods is changed from Shanghai port to Ningbo port, due to the relative congestion of the port, the container stay time is extended, the delivery time of goods is delayed, and the cost is also rising. "Fortunately, our production has remained stable and our orders have not decreased." The person in charge is still optimistic about the overall business situation this year, and believes that in the long run, the domestic epidemic will be controlled soon, and the enterprise will strive to hand in a good report card.
In the first half of the year, a furniture export enterprise to the United States in Wuxi encountered challenges at both the supply and demand sides, and the order volume decreased by 60% year-on-year. "The old customers are relatively stable, and we are also developing new customers through various ways. We hope that the business will improve in the second half of the year." The person in charge of the enterprise said.

The business of a semiconductor equipment consumables export enterprise in Shanghai whose main markets are South Korea, the United States and Singapore has not been greatly affected by the COVID-19. The person in charge of the enterprise said: "The COVID-19 has mainly led to inconvenient delivery and slow production, and some customers who are anxious for goods have concerns. However, our procurement and supply chain is relatively flexible, and most of our products are sent by air, so delivery from other places can support the normal operation of our business. In recent years, the semiconductor industry has developed well. Only China has the raw materials of our exported products, and our customer loyalty is high. Since the outbreak, the company's overall revenue has been growing. ”

Improve internal skill, reduce cost and increase efficiency
This is a difficult year for an auto parts export enterprise in Ningbo. The order volume of enterprises in March and April was only half of that of the same period last year. Meanwhile, the continuous rise of raw material prices led to a decline in profit margin. In the face of such a situation, on the one hand, the enterprise strives to improve the competitiveness of products, find new core values and stabilize the sales price; On the other hand, improve the automation rate of production and reduce costs. "At present, there are only 10 workers in the whole production line, and all the others rely on automation technology." The official said.
Efforts are also being made to change an electronic component export enterprise in Shenzhen. "Many parts and components of this industry need to be imported from abroad and then exported after processing. Affected by the COVID-19, many imported parts and components are out of stock, which directly leads to the increase of costs and the extension of delivery cycle. This reminds us that a pure processing enterprise in the intermediate link will inevitably be in a relatively weak position. The key to solving the problem is to constantly upgrade products and improve product added value." The person in charge of the enterprise said that in recent years, the enterprise has continuously improved the processing difficulty, connected with high-end customers, and continuously enhanced its market competitiveness.
