Chilean Chinese businessmen polish the "window of Chinese culture"

"Recently, we just held the 70th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Chilean Chinese Cultural Association in the Chinese Park in Santiago!" Wang Hexing, president of the Chilean Chinese Entrepreneurs Federation, said, "It is hoped that more Chilean people can understand and like China by strengthening communication between the two sides."
Local integration
Wang Hexing went to Chile to work and live in 1984. His early work experience provided him with experience in independent entrepreneurship, and also made him understand the importance of communication with the local society.
"At that time, many overseas Chinese did not know Spanish, and many people could not even protect their legitimate rights and interests." Wang Hexing said.
With his Spanish speaking advantages and contacts, Wang Hexing began to provide consulting services for overseas Chinese and Chinese enterprises, and gradually gained recognition from overseas Chinese. In order to better serve overseas Chinese, he took the lead in establishing the Chilean Chinese Business Federation in 2009.
In Wang Hexing's view, overseas Chinese actively contribute to the country where they live, which helps promote communication between the two sides and better integrate into the local society. In recent years, whenever there are fires, earthquakes and other incidents in Chile, the Chilean Chinese Business Federation will organize overseas Chinese to actively raise money.
Wang Hexing said that the Chinese Chamber of Commerce has carried out friendly cooperation with many Chilean cities, and recently signed an agreement with the Chilean Ministry of the Interior to ask them to hold a monthly lecture on law popularization to help overseas Chinese safeguard their rights according to law.
Repair the park
Language is the basis for effective communication between people, and culture is an important means to enhance understanding between countries. Over the years, Wang Hexing has been committed to promoting the spread of Chinese culture in Chile.
Santiago China Park was built in 1962. It was closed to the public for years because of its disrepair. "There are many parks in other countries, but this is the only one in China. I think China Park is a window to show the image of China, so I tried to negotiate with the local government to see if it could be renovated." Wang Hexing said.
After years of efforts and the spontaneous fundraising of overseas Chinese in LZ, the park was successfully repaired and officially opened in January 2017. Today, China Park has held many Chinese cultural and artistic activities, and has become a landmark of Chinese culture in Chile.
"Before the COVID-19, we would organize a Spring Festival get-together on the square opposite the Chilean Presidential Palace every Spring Festival, and a team of hundreds of people would go to Santiago's Chinese business district to pay a New Year's greetings. This activity was loved by overseas Chinese and local residents." Wang Hexing said, "Now, I hope that the Chinese Park in Santiago can also become a window of Chinese culture and further enhance the friendship between the two peoples."
Stringing and bridging
In recent years, more and more Chinese enterprises have come to Chile to invest, and the scope of China Chile cooperation has become wider and wider. As the stationmaster of the South America Workstation in Hubei Province, Wang Hexing closely followed the economic and trade exchanges between China and Chile, and actively played a role in bridging the birth of the "Chile Week".
"The Chile Week has opened up a new trade road and created a good opportunity for China Chile exchanges and cooperation." Wang Hexing said, "China has technology and a consumer market, and Chile has high-quality products. In recent years, it has constantly strengthened communication and exchanges, which will have broad space for cooperation in the future."
