On December 5, the China Australia Low Carbon Innovation Cooperation Forum was held. The forum was co hosted by the China International Chamber of Commerce and the China Industry and Commerce Commission of Australia, with special support from Rio Tinto. The meeting took China Australia low carbon innovation cooperation as the theme, and Chinese and Australian entrepreneurs, scholars and industry experts conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as "China Australia cooperation to promote energy conservation and emission reduction" and "China Australia cooperation in innovation to promote green development".
Ren Hongbin, president of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the China Chamber of International Commerce, said that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Australia, and the two countries have broad prospects for cooperation in the field of low-carbon development in the future. China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and China Chamber of International Commerce will give full play to their role as bridges and ties, actively build a multilateral and bilateral business cooperation mechanism, and guide and organize Chinese business communities to participate in global governance for sustainable development.
Chinese Ambassador to Australia Xiao Qian said that China and Australia have frequent exchanges in different fields and at different levels, and have made remarkable achievements. In the process of promoting the development of low-carbon economy, the two countries have broad prospects for cooperation. China and Australia should strengthen exchanges and cooperation, work together to actively address global challenges and bring more benefits to the two peoples.
Australian Ambassador to China Fu Guanhan said that climate change is an important area of bilateral cooperation between Australia and China. The two countries have a long history of cooperation in business partnership, investment and scientific research. Low carbon is a new area of cooperation and innovation between Australian and Chinese enterprises. The complementary advantages of resources and technologies will facilitate successful cooperation between the two countries in this field.
Shen Wen, chairman of the Australia China Industry and Commerce Commission, said that the recent report released by the Australia China Industry and Commerce Commission showed that Australian and Chinese enterprises had carried out successful cooperation in mining, energy, transportation, finance and other fields. Coping with climate change is a decisive challenge in this era. Cooperation on this issue can help the two countries better stabilize their bilateral relations.
