Brazilian President Lula to Visit China

release time:2023/3/21

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Hua Chunying announced:

It is understood that through this visit, the Brazilian government hopes to reverse the image of former President Jair Bolsonaro as being far away from China and pro Western. One of Lula's clear messages is to defend national rights and interests, not to become a "vassal" of any party. He pointed out that the formulation of Brazil's international policy depends entirely on the national interests themselves.
Such a position is conducive to the establishment of a win-win relationship between Brazil and China. Brazil is likely to become a strong ally of China and eventually join the "the Belt and Road" initiative.
