The Dubai Free Zone and Commodity Trade and Enterprise Authority, the Dubai Multi Commodity Trading Center (DMCC), successfully held a China Business Day event on April 25th at the Almas Building in Dubai to celebrate the increasingly close commercial connection between the United Arab Emirates and China, and demonstrated how DMCC provides specialized support for Chinese companies hoping to expand global business through Dubai.
Khalid Al Shamsi, Vice President of Operations of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, attended the event and delivered a keynote speech, emphasizing the constantly developing economic relationship between the two countries.
For this event, Mohammed Ali Rashid Luta, President and CEO of Dubai Chamber of Commerce, said: "The United Arab Emirates is one of the most powerful economies in the region. As a natural partner of the 'the Belt and Road' initiative, it has become an important global gateway for Chinese enterprises, especially in view of its advanced logistics infrastructure and an important hub along the Silk Road. This event brought together over 200 business professionals from Dubai Chinese businessmen and even from around the world, emphasizing DMCC's commitment to attracting Chinese companies to Dubai. The event also features a group discussion on the theme of "From China to the World: Sharing Successful Cases of Chinese Enterprises in Dubai, United Arab Emirates". Representatives from China Construction Middle East, Bank of China Dubai Branch, China Mobile International Middle East and North Africa, Dahua Technology Co., Ltd., and Yingke Law Firm (United Arab Emirates) spoke at the seminar.
As a highly regarded global trading center, DMCC provides tremendous growth opportunities for enterprises through its world-class infrastructure, products, services, and public facilities. Nowadays, DMCC has over 750 Chinese company members, accounting for over 12% of the total number of Chinese companies registered in the United Arab Emirates.
Ahmad bin Suleim, Executive Chairman and CEO of DMCC, said, "As the main trading partner of the United Arab Emirates, our relationship with China is becoming increasingly mature. It is expected that the bilateral trade volume between the two countries will reach $200 billion by 2030. This indicates that the United Arab Emirates, as a key hub for Chinese enterprises to enter the rapidly growing global market, has become an important gateway for China's foreign trade
He also said, "DMCC provides a platform for Chinese companies to establish themselves in Dubai and expand their international influence, playing an important role in strengthening economic ties between the United Arab Emirates and China
Wu Yi, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Consulate General in Dubai, stated: In recent years, China Arab relations have entered the best period in history, with strong and profound political mutual trust, thriving economic and trade cooperation, and thriving cultural exchanges. In 2022, China Arab bilateral trade overcame the impact of the epidemic, and the total trade volume reached a historic high, reflecting the strong vitality of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. China is an important strategic market for DMCC and the United Arab Emirates, and DMCC has specialized in building comprehensive infrastructure for the Chinese business community. This includes the establishment of the Yingtian (Dubai DMCC) China Business Center in 2017 to provide services for Chinese companies hoping to establish a company in Dubai; Launch the DMCC Chinese website to further enhance the convenience of conducting business in Dubai; In 2020, DMCC opened a Chinese service center at its headquarters in Almas Building to provide Mandarin support services to customers; At the same time, DMCC has established a representative office in Shenzhen, further approaching various industries in China.
