The General Administration of Customs and Uzbekistan have signed an AEO mutual recognition arrangement!
On May 18th, China Customs became the first "Certified Operator" (AEO) mutual recognition partner of Uzbekistan Customs.
After the implementation of the Mutual Recognition Arrangement, AEO enterprises in both countries will enjoy lower inspection rates for imported goods, priority inspections for goods that require physical inspection, establishment of enterprise coordinators, and priority customs clearance after international trade interruption and resumption. This will help AEO enterprises reduce customs clearance time and reduce trade costs such as warehousing and logistics.
This mutual recognition arrangement is the fourth AEO mutual recognition agreement signed by the General Administration of Customs this year.
So far, China has signed AEO mutual recognition agreements with 52 countries (regions) in 26 economies, including Singapore, South Korea and the European Union. Among them, the number of countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" has increased to 35. The number of mutual recognition agreements signed and the number of countries (regions) mutually recognized rank first in the world.

Panama Canal Announces Shipping Restrictions
Affected by drought, the Panama Canal has introduced new restrictions.
From May 24, the new Panamax ships (the largest ships passing the waterway) will be allowed a maximum draft of 44.5 feet (13.56 meters), compared with the previous limit of 45 feet; By May 30th, the maximum draft will once again be reduced to 44 feet.
This adjustment may result in a 40% reduction in the cargo on some container ships. Container ships that want to pass through the Panama Canal must reduce loading and pay higher fees.
In response to the restrictions on the canal, at least four shipping companies have announced weight restrictions or imposed a container fee of $300 to $500 per container starting from June 1st, in response to the canal's measures.
It is expected that the cost of transporting goods through the Panama Canal will further increase this summer, and the goods may also face delays.
