Liu Yuxi, Special Representative of the Chinese Government for African Affairs, said recently at the twelfth session of the China Africa Think Tank Forum that in 2022, The trade volume between China and Africa has reached 282 billion US dollars, and the two-way trade volume has achieved growth. African agricultural exports to China have achieved positive growth for 6 consecutive years, and China has maintained Africa's position as the largest trading partner for 14 consecutive years.
Liu Yuxi said that the China Africa Think Tank Forum is an important sub forum under the framework of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation and has become a brand project for people to people and cultural exchanges between China and Africa since its establishment. He hoped that we will continue to focus on the implementation of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation outcomes, further give play to the advantages of local, business, and private sectors, build a solid foundation of traditional pillar industries such as infrastructure construction, trade, and investment, release new momentum in green, digital, health, and other fields, help Africa's industrialization and economic diversification, and foster stronger endogenous development momentum.
Kgalema Motlanthe, the former President of the Republic of South Africa, said that China and Africa have always enjoyed good bilateral cooperative relations, and Africa and China can learn from each other in political, economic and social aspects. African countries have been exploring how to achieve national prosperity, promote economic and social development, and improve people's living standards. China has made significant contributions to eliminating absolute poverty for the world, inspiring African countries to make efforts towards this end. Currently, poverty reduction cooperation between Africa and China has established a solid foundation, and both sides should continue to strengthen cooperation in this field.

Kgalema Motlanthe said that the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" is based on win-win results, and by promoting cooperation between countries, it provides diversified options and impetus for world development, as well as opportunities for Africa's independent development.

"Teaching people to fish is better than teaching them to fish" is a typical Chinese style cooperative philosophy highly respected in Africa. The Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Technology of the Gambia attaches great importance to its cooperative relationship with China, and China's experience has a positive reference value for the construction of various fields in the Gambia.
