Continuing to write a new chapter in mutually beneficial economic and trade cooperation between China and Japan

On July 4th, the Welcome Banquet of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade to China and the Promotion Conference of the First China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo were held in Beijing. Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stated in his speech that China and Japan are close neighbors who cannot move away. They have broad common interests and broad cooperation space, and maintaining and developing friendly cooperative relations between China and Japan is a common responsibility and mission of the economic circles of the two countries.
"For more than 50 years, as important economic and trade partners, China and Japan have promoted each other, achieved each other's achievements, and deeply integrated their interests in achieving their own development." Ren Hongbin said that last year, the leaders of China and Japan reached a consensus on jointly working to build a constructive and stable China–Japan relations that meets the requirements of the new era, pointing out the direction for the healthy and stable development of China–Japan relations and the exchanges and cooperation between the economic circles of China and Japan in the future.
Ren Hongbin said that this year is an important year for the 45th anniversary of the conclusion of the Treaty of Peace and Friendship between Japan and China, following the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the normalization of China Japan diplomatic relations last year. China and Japan should expand the "cake" of economic and trade cooperation, strengthen cooperation in digital economy, green development, finance, healthcare and elderly care, and achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win situation.
This event is also the 46th delegation visit to China by the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade as one of the seven friendly groups between Japan and China.
Yohei Kono, President of the Japan Association for the Promotion of International Trade and former Speaker of the Japanese House of Representatives, said in his speech that in the past few decades, China Japan exchanges have gone through ups and downs, and cooperation has not been smooth. The two sides have had problems in trade, and have also been affected by a third party, resulting in difficult situations. However, China and Japan, based on the principle of mutual respect and mutual trust, continue to develop their relations.
"Cooperation between the two sides is the best way for us to overcome the difficulties we are facing." Yōhei Kōno said that although we are facing many difficulties now, if we look forward to ten years later, we will find that these difficulties can be overcome. Japan hopes to work with China to create a better future.
The promotion of the first China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo is also an important part of the on-site activities. After Luo Lei, Vice Minister of the Convention and Exhibition Department of the China International Chamber of Commerce, introduced the preparations for the Expo, Kenji Watanabe, Chairman of the Board of Directors and representative director of Nippon Express, and Zhang Zhengrong, General Manager of Nippon Shanghai, made speeches as representatives of the exhibitors.
Kenji Watanabe stated that logistics plays a very important supporting role in the stability of the supply chain. Nippon Express Group hopes to present the best side of the enterprise and make due contributions to the economic development of China, Japan and the world.
"In Japanese, co creation and competition are the same sound. Logistics enterprises should not only compete, but also co create more, so that the logistics cause can be further developed through cooperation." Kenji Watanabe, for example, said that Nippon Express Group had signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with relevant Chinese logistics enterprises during the Sino Japanese Third Party Market Cooperation Forum, with the goal of jointly expanding the vision of logistics development through cooperation.
In the view of Kenji Watanabe, the first China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo can provide enterprises with more opportunities for face-to-face communication and discussion, and it is very important to have such a platform between Japan and China.
