The Green Technology Bank Bangkok Center recently held its unveiling ceremony. The center is located in an innovation and entrepreneurship cluster near Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. The park is full of vitality, just like the vigorous development of green technology innovation cooperation between China and Thailand in recent years.
The Bangkok Center is the first overseas branch of the Green Technology Bank. Relying on the Chinese Academy of Sciences Bangkok Innovation Cooperation Center, based in Thailand and facing ASEAN, it builds an international cooperation bridge for better transfer and transformation of advanced and applicable green technologies.
Entering the Bangkok Center of Green Technology Bank, staff are receiving representatives of visiting science and technology enterprises. "Many Chinese enterprises come to Thailand for the first time and do not understand the local laws and regulations or the registration process. We can provide professional services to help them get familiar with the local situation and carry out business as soon as possible." Jiang Biao, director of the Bangkok Innovation Cooperation Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, told reporters that the center's schedule has been very full recently, and many domestic science and innovation enterprises came to consult related matters and negotiate cooperation, I hope to bring the advanced technology of the enterprise to Thailand.
In recent years, China Thailand green technology innovation cooperation has made continuous progress, and many advanced technologies have benefited the Thai people.
In March 2020, in order to fight against the COVID-19, Siam Cement Group of Thailand sought help from the Bangkok Innovation Cooperation Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, urgently purchased a batch of high-end medical imaging equipment in China and donated them to Rama Hospital of Mahidol University in Thailand, greatly improving the clinical diagnostic efficiency.
In April of this year, a delegation from Mahidol University Rama Hospital visited Shanghai and visited institutions such as Lianying Medical Technology Co., Ltd. that had previously provided assistance. The first domestically produced proton therapy system in China left a deep impression on the Thai delegation. This year, we will accelerate the application of proton therapy systems at Mahidol University Rama Hospital, further reducing local hospital equipment and medical costs, and providing patients with a cost-effective medical experience, "Jiang Biao said.
In November 2022, the intention cooperation agreement for Thailand's first 5G+autonomous driving smart green mine project was signed in Bangkok. Five companies from China and Thailand cooperate to build the mining area of Siam Cement Group located in Saraburi Province into a green, intelligent, efficient, and safe new type of mine, relying on technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving, cloud computing, and new energy batteries. This is China's first smart green mining project overseas. From project construction to operation and production, a complete closed-loop and full chain unmanned solution has been formed. Jiang Biao introduced that the project will effectively reduce mining safety risks, improve production efficiency, and reduce energy consumption.
Thailand is the world's largest producer and exporter of natural rubber, but has long relied on traditional manual rubber cutting methods. Every rubber cutting season, rubber cutting workers wake up at 4 or 5 am every day to start work, which is very laborious and inefficient. To improve the production efficiency of rubber plantations in Thailand, we are promoting unmanned automatic rubber cutting machines and constructing supporting photovoltaic roofs to achieve the use of clean energy and reduce electricity costs, "Jiang Biao said.
In November of this year, the 2023 Green Technology Expo will be held in Bangkok, Thailand. This expo is based on the concept of "moving towards newer, cleaner, and sustainable green technologies", and will showcase the latest global green technology innovation achievements. As one of the main organizers of the Expo, the Bangkok Innovation Cooperation Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is working hard to attract exhibitions. Gao Kun, deputy director of the Bangkok Innovation Cooperation Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said: "In recent years, Thailand has strongly supported the development of the new energy vehicle industry. At present, some Chinese car enterprises have decided to participate in the exhibition. Some manufacturers from ASEAN countries, such as Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, Malaysia, have also expressed their willingness to participate in the exhibition."
Recently, the second press conference of the 2023 Green Technology Expo was held in Shanghai to assist Chinese enterprises in connecting to the Thai market and promote in-depth exchanges between China and Thailand in areas such as green, low-carbon, energy conservation, and environmental protection.
