Trade between China and BRICS members has skyrocketed

The WeChat official account "Customs Release" of the General Administration of Customs of China announced on the 21st that since the establishment of the BRICS mechanism, economic and trade cooperation has continued to consolidate and develop, promoting the BRICS mechanism to become an important engine for global economic recovery.
According to Chinese customs statistics, in 2022, China's imports and exports to other BRICS countries reached 3.69 trillion yuan, an increase of 17%. In the first seven months of this year, China's imports and exports to other BRICS countries reached 2.38 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.1%, accounting for 10.1% of China's total import and export value, an increase of 1.6 percentage points; Among them, exports reached 1.23 trillion yuan, an increase of 23.9%; Import reached 1.15 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.3%.
According to Chinese customs statistics, in the first seven months of this year, Chinese private enterprises imported and exported 1.36 trillion yuan to other BRICS countries, an increase of 29.4%, accounting for 57.1% of China's total import and export value with other BRICS countries during the same period; Among them, exports reached 862.69 billion yuan, an increase of 28.8%; The import reached 496.57 billion yuan, an increase of 30.5%. During the same period, Chinese state-owned enterprises and foreign-invested enterprises respectively imported and exported 602.11 billion and 416.97 billion yuan to other BRICS countries, accounting for 25.3% and 17.5%, respectively.
