release time:2023/8/23

The Tanzanian economic and trade delegation entered Jinhua and held a procurement docking meeting on August 18th. Nearly 300 participants, including Zhang Xinyu, member of the Standing Committee and Executive Vice Mayor of Jinhua City, Msafeli Mbibo, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Tanzanian Ministry of Mining, Lin Wei, Vice President of the Zhejiang Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Tanzanian government officials, enterprise representatives, and Jinhua City enterprise representatives, attended the meeting. Previously, more than 100 Tanzanian economic and trade representatives from the delegation had visited Yiwu, Yongkang, Dongyang and other places for inspection, exchange, and cooperation negotiations. They also held multiple small symposiums with some enterprises and received many intended orders.
Zhang Xinyu stated that since the upgrade of China Tanzania relations to a comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership last year, the economic, trade and cultural cooperation and exchange between Jinhua and Tanzania have pressed the "accelerator button". As a major manufacturing city, Jinhua has established the first designated delivery and settlement warehouse for bulk commodities in Zhejiang Province, with a cumulative value of over 1 billion yuan, of which more than 20% are imported from Tanzania. This delegation's visit has brought new opportunities for economic and trade cooperation between Jinhua City and Tanzania. In September of this year, Jinhua will organize more than 100 enterprises to carry out industrial docking activities in Tanzania, and further strengthen economic, trade and technological cooperation with Tanzania.
Mbibo mentioned that last year, the bilateral trade volume between China and Tanzania reached 8.3 billion US dollars, with a total investment of 3.6 billion US dollars, of which Zhejiang Province and Jinhua City made important contributions. He introduced Tanzania's business environment and mineral resources, and pointed out that Tanzanian companies in the same industry are very eager to meet with Chinese companies to explore cooperation opportunities in mining and other fields, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.
Lin Wei said that this year is the tenth anniversary of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, and also the first year of Zhejiang's implementation of the "No. 1 Opening Project" to upgrade the economy of sweet potatoes. As the largest trade and investment promotion agency in the province, the Provincial Council for the Promotion of International Trade has been conducting economic and trade exchanges and cooperation with domestic and foreign business communities. It has organized a Zhejiang delegation to Tanzania for industrial docking activities and achieved significant results. Next, we will continue to leverage our trade promotion advantages in international liaison, international trade and investment promotion, and international commercial legal services, and continue to walk a stable, win-win, and prosperous path with African countries.
The reporter learned from the Jinhua Council for the Promotion of International Trade that in December last year, Jinhua held the China Tanzania Business Investment Forum, with nearly 400 enterprises from the two countries participating online for pairing negotiations. They also conducted docking and cooperation in more than ten fields such as automotive parts, clothing, shoes and hats, agricultural tools, and electronic equipment. The holding of this event has been highly praised by participants from the Tanzanian side, and has also stimulated the willingness of more Tanzanian business professionals to conduct on-site inspections in Jinhua.
This is my first time visiting Yongkang, and this trip has given me a deeper understanding of the industrial characteristics of Jinhua and opened up new opportunities for cooperation. "Delegation member Saeed Cabdalla said that the Tanzanian market has great potential, and Yongkang products, relying on quality and price advantages, are bound to succeed in Tanzania.

The visit of the Tanzanian economic and trade delegation has brought new development opportunities to the company, "said Cheng Mingsong, Deputy General Manager of Buyang Group. This visit will further help the company expand its customer base in Tanzania and promote deep cooperation and exchanges in multiple fields.

Many buyers in the delegation are very interested in clothing and makeup products, and we have also provided them with detailed information on product performance, prices, and other aspects. "Zhang Muran, the head of the logistics department of Zhejiang Maihe Supply Chain Co., Ltd., said that the company's products are mainly exported to Japan and South America. This docking meeting is a good opportunity to open up markets in Tanzania and Africa. At present, we have reached a preliminary cooperation intention with a customer and will further negotiate in the future to secure the order
In order to deepen the understanding of the Tanzanian economic and trade delegation on the industries and policies of Zhejiang Province and Jinhua City, relevant departments and financial institutions of Zhejiang Province and Jinhua City respectively gave lectures and answers to the Tanzanian side on overseas financing and intelligence, transportation and logistics, customs clearance policies, Jinyi Comprehensive Bonded Zone business format, cross-border RMB settlement, and export credit insurance policies.
In recent years, Jinhua has been deeply involved in the construction of the "the Belt and Road", attaches great importance to the expansion of relations with Africa, gives full play to its dominant position in global light industry, small commodity production and international procurement, actively carries out China (Zhejiang) China Africa Economic and Trade Forum, China Africa Cultural Cooperation and Exchange Month and other activities, and has achieved fruitful results in cooperation with Africa. According to customs data, in the first half of this year, Jinhua's imports and exports to Tanzania amounted to 2.93 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.4%.
