On the eve of his official visit to Indonesia, South Korean President Yoon Seok hye emphasized on September 5th that trilateral cooperation between China, Japan, and South Korea should return to the right track.
Yin Xiyue mentioned the relationship between ASEAN and China, Japan, and South Korea (10+3), stating that trilateral cooperation between China, Japan, and South Korea should also return to the right track. As the rotating presidency of the trilateral consultation mechanism between the governments of China, Japan, and South Korea, the South Korean side will do its utmost to activate trilateral cooperation. If the cooperation between the three countries is revitalized, the cooperation between the "10+3" countries will also be injected with greater momentum, which will further strengthen the "central position of ASEAN".
On August 31st, Wang Yi, a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs, had a phone conversation with South Korean Foreign Minister Park Chun upon request. Wang Yi expressed the hope that the South Korean side will strengthen strategic autonomy, resist various anti globalization operations and "decoupling and chain breaking", deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields between the two countries, and better benefit the two peoples. China supports the South Korean side to play a positive role in promoting trilateral cooperation as the chair state of China Japan South Korea cooperation.
Yin Xiyue has been visiting Indonesia and India consecutively since September 5th, attending a series of ASEAN summits and the Group of Twenty (G20) summits for a period of 7 days.
