On September 24th, the China Nepal Business Forum was held in Beijing to discuss enterprise cooperation, promote investment environment, and exchange cooperation texts. At the forum, Nepalese Prime Minister Prachanda stated that Nepal hopes to deepen economic and trade relations with China and achieve mutually beneficial cooperation.
Prachanda said that China is Nepal's second largest trading partner and the most important source of foreign investment. Nepal will continue to promote economic and trade exchanges between the two countries, welcome more Chinese enterprises to invest in Nepal, and promote cooperation between the two sides in the fields of technology and finance.
Zhang Shaogang, Vice President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, stated that the Council looks forward to working with Nepalese partners to strengthen 24-hour and normalized cooperation and provide precise services for the docking of enterprises between the two sides, relying on regional cooperation platforms such as the China South Asia Business Forum, the China (Sichuan) - Southeast Asian Business Leaders Forum, and the China South Asia Standardization Cooperation Work Conference.
Zhang Shaogang said that the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade is willing to build more trade promotion platforms, organize more economic and trade delegations to visit Nepal, support Chinese enterprises in importing unique and advantageous products such as artworks, wool products, agricultural products, and traditional Chinese medicine from Nepal, and help expand the scale of bilateral trade. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade is also willing to support more powerful Chinese enterprises to invest and develop in Nepal, contributing to Nepal's accelerated economic and industrial process.
Vice Minister of Commerce Li Fei stated that he is willing to strengthen cooperation with Nepal in tourism, agriculture and other fields, fully utilize exhibitions and various e-commerce platforms such as the China International Import and Export Fair, the Canton Fair, and the Service Trade Fair, to help Nepal's high-quality products enter the Chinese market, continue to provide assistance to Nepal in the fields of education, healthcare, and people's livelihoods within his capabilities, and promote Chinese enterprises to invest in light textile, food processing, and other fields in Nepal, Assist Nepal in improving infrastructure, enhancing connectivity, strengthening capacity building, and promoting sustainable development. In recent years, mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Nepal has continuously made new progress. The cross-border optical cables between the two countries have been completed and put into use, and the Nepal Bokra International Airport project undertaken by Chinese enterprises has officially been put into operation. WeChat payment has landed in Nepal. On September 7th, the first batch of imported goods transferred through China under the China Nepal Transit Transport Agreement successfully arrived in the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu. On September 19th, the Lizi Port in Tibet, as a traditional trade channel between China and Nepal, successfully passed national acceptance.
The President of the Nepal Federation of Commerce and Industry, Dhakal, stated that Nepal has abundant natural resources and a promising investment environment. In recent years, Nepal has continuously improved its domestic infrastructure and services, and its trade and investment potential has been increasing. It has become one of the trusted investment destinations for Chinese investors. In the future, we welcome more and more Chinese tourists and investors to visit Nepal, adding assistance to the economic and trade exchanges between the two countries.
At the forum, Nepalese company CG Motors exchanged cooperation agreements with China GAC Group and Nezha Motors. On the same day, GAC International Automobile Sales and Service Co., Ltd. presented a car model from GAC Aian to Prachanda. Wang Shunsheng, the deputy general manager of the company, stated in an interview with reporters that in the future, GAC Group will introduce new energy vehicles in Nepal. Wang Shunsheng said that Nepal is an important trade partner of China and one of the countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road". In recent years, the Nepalese government has actively improved the domestic software and hardware business environment, providing more opportunities for enterprise development than before, and expanding the market prospects for new energy products.
As another document exchange enterprise on the same day, CAMCE International Engineering Co., Ltd. and Nepal IME Group also officially reached a cooperation agreement recently. Yan Hailu, Deputy General Manager of CAMCE International, told reporters that CAMCE International entered the Nepalese market in 2010 and has been deeply involved in the development of multiple projects in the local area, such as transportation, electricity, municipal administration, and tourism. In his view, in the future, there will be more and more economic and trade exchanges between China and Nepal, and Nepal's market potential will also be increasing. We will invest sufficient energy, utilize our technological and financing advantages, and take root in the Nepalese market for a long time, making our due contributions to China Nepal economic and trade cooperation, "said Yan Hailu.
