The China Laos international cold chain freight train is built based on the China Laos railway, realizing the two-way opening from Kunming, Yuxi, Yunnan to Vientiane, Laos, with a full journey of 26 hours; The China Vietnam International Cold Chain Freight Train is built on the Kunming Yuxi River (mouth) Railway and the China Vietnam Meter Gauge Railway, achieving a one-stop direct service from Kunming, Yunnan, Yuxi to Laojie in Vietnam, with a total operation of 20 hours. The China Laos and China Vietnam international cold chain freight trains connect the inland through Yunnan internally and the China Indochina Peninsula Economic Corridor externally, building a bridge for Yunnan to serve and integrate into the high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road", promote common prosperity along the line and expand high-level opening up, and inject new vitality.
Tao Qiang, Deputy Director of the Freight Department of China Railway Kunming Bureau Group Co., Ltd., introduced that this train has the characteristics and advantages of safety and stability, strong timeliness, sufficient transportation capacity, good performance of transportation cold chain equipment, and high degree of preservation. The characteristic fruits and vegetables produced in Yunnan can achieve the maximum preservation effect from the production base to foreign consumers. At the same time, the implementation of a 50% reduction in railway freight rates for the international cold chain intermodal transportation of the China Laos and China Vietnam railways, coupled with relevant subsidy policies, can significantly reduce logistics costs for enterprises and effectively drive economic and trade development in areas along the railway.
It is reported that during the initial operation of the China Laos and China Vietnam international cold chain freight trains, there will be one train per day from Kunming to Vientiane and one train per week from Kunming to Laojie. The railway department will dynamically adjust the frequency of train operation according to customer needs to meet customer needs.
Yunnan has superior natural and geographical conditions, high mountains and long rivers, abundant rainfall, fertile soil, and a combination of tropical, subtropical, temperate, and frigid climates.
